Pairwise Parameter Estimation in Rasch Models

چکیده
on comparing responses to pairs of items irrespective of other items. The pseudo-likelihood method is comparable to Fischer’s (1974) Minchi method. A simulation study found that the pseudo-likelihood estimates and their (estimated) standard errors were comparable to conditional and marginal maximum likelihood estimates. The method is extended to estimate parameters of the linear logistic test model allowing the design matrix to vary between persons.

The effects of the violation of local independence assumption on the person measures under the Rasch model
Local independence of test items is an assumption in all Item Response Theory (IRT) models. That is, the items in a test should not be related to each other. Sharing a common passage, which is prevalent in reading comprehension tests, cloze tests and C-Tests, can be a potential source of local item dependence (LID). It is argued in the literature that LID results in biased parameter estimation ...
متن کاملA Multilevel Testlet Model for Dual Local Dependence
The applications of item response theory (IRT) models assume local item independence and that examinees are independent of each other. When a representative sample for psychometric analysis is selected using a cluster sampling method in a testlet-based assessment, both local item dependence and local person dependence are likely to be induced. This study proposed a four-level IRT model to simul...
متن کاملUsing paired comparison matrices to estimate parameters of the partial credit Rasch measurement model for rater-mediated assessments.
The purpose of this paper is to describe a technique for estimating the parameters of a Rasch model that accommodates ordered categories and rater severity. The technique builds on the conditional pairwise algorithm described by Choppin (1968, 1985) and represents an extension of a conditional algorithm described by Garner and Engelhard (2000, 2002) in which parameters appear as the eigenvector...
متن کاملEstimation of Models in a Rasch Family for Polytomous Items and Multiple Latent Variables
The Rasch family of models considered in this paper includes models for polytomous items and multiple correlated latent traits, as well as for dichotomous items and a single latent variable. An R package is described that computes estimates of parameters and robust standard errors of a class of log-linear-by-linear association (LLLA) models, which are derived from a Rasch family of models. The ...

Background: Quality of life evaluates the general well-being of individuals and it can be considered as one of the important aspects in programming and giving service to disabled people. Blindness is one of the most important kinds of physical disability that has a direct effect on quality of life, so t his study aimed to explore how war blindness influences the quality of life . Methods: I...
